Chapter 14

Theodore

This weekend away with Cami was so much more than I could have hoped for. I knew she loved me, but hearing her say it took my breath away. I’m nervous about having to tell my brother about us. I hate that it feels like we’re doing something forbidden and could be punished for it. The more I think about it, the less I see him being upset, but Cami is terrified he will be.

We’re on our way back to Cami’s condo. I’ve had my hand on her thigh the entire drive and I can’t help but sneak glances at her. She catches me more often than not. We’ve both been smiling nonstop since we woke up this morning. I had plans to bury my face in her pussy, but we slept in on accident and had to quickly pack and check out.

Cami’s phone starts to ring and I glance over to see her looking at the screen with a frown on her face.

“Who is it?”

“It’s the police. Probably about that package.” She still hasn’t answered her phone, so I squeeze her thigh in reassurance.

“You should probably answer them, love.”

She sighs and swipes to accept the call. I listen as she answers a few yes or no questions before hanging up.

“It was delivered by the postal service. The postage on it is from a small town in Montana. The Post Office in that town doesn’t have cameras and there was no return address.” The smile Cami had been wearing all morning has seemed to disappear for good.

“I’m guessing you don’t know anyone from Montana.” It’s more of a statement than a question. She didn’t give the police any names and she would have if she had any to give.

“Not that I’m aware of. I can’t even think of anyone that would do something like this in general.”

I glance over in her direction again to find her staring out the window. “Did you get any alerts from your cameras at home or the bakery? Has Lana checked in?” I’m pretty sure she would have told me if anything concerning had happened, but we were also naked and wrapped up in each other most of the time. I also had Chad checking the outdoor cameras around the time the deliveries come to the bakery. Cami can't have the motion alerts on for those cameras because it would just alert her every time someone walked by.

“Lana says the bakery has been great. No more weird packages. I’ve had camera alerts for a neighborhood cat that keeps walking past my front door. I’m almost completely confident Mr. Tipsy didn’t mail me anything from Montana.”

I can’t help but laugh at the cat’s name. “Mr. Tipsy?”

She chuckles. “Yeah. He as some sort of brain injury. My neighbors a few doors down rescued him a week or so ago. He walks like he’s drunk because of his head trauma. So, they named him Mr. Tipsy.”

Pulling into Cami’s condo complex, I notice there’s a car next to hers.
